The message 'Motor Life Exceeded', on select Resmed machines, is a safety feature that warns CPAP users their machine has passed its 'used by date' for optimal performance. This message appears after approximately 22,000 hours of therapy. It is to notify users that they can continue to use their CPAP machine, however, it may suddenly stop working, which could be an issue if you're on therapy. If you're seeing this message, it's recommended that you do one of two things soon:

Replace your CPAP motor. This could save you some money, but this option can also cost you in time and in sleep health.
