What is Flex?
Philips Respironics call their comfort setting Flex. Flex comfort features provide users with pressure relief on various (CPAP, APAP or BiPAP) modes of therapy. Types of Flex available: C-Flex, A-Flex, Bi-Flex, C-Flex+, P-Flex.
A-Flex Technology
A-Flex works within Auto-CPAP mode. Like C-Flex, A-Flex supplies pressure relief at the beginning of exhalation and like Bi-Flex softens transition avoiding spike-ups from inhalation to exhalation. It is a smoother and more comfortable feeling. A-Flex mimics your natural breath the most.
Bi-Flex Technology
Bi-Flex works in BiPAP mode and offers pressure relief at both inhalation and exhalation. The Bi-flex setting offers pressure relief at 3 key areas - the transition from exhalation to inhalation, the transition from inhalation to exhalation and during the exhalation.
C-Flex Technology
C-Flex technology is a pressure relief feature designed for CPAP machines. A range of settings numbered 1 through 3 is set up to create varying levels of pressure reduction upon exhalation. Setting 1 is used to apply the least amount of change while Setting 3 offers the greatest ease upon exhalation.
P-Flex Technology
P-Flex is a unique comfort feature that applies for exhalation pressure relief in proportion to the pressure. Like the rest of their Flex algorithm family, P-Flex is designed to enhance comfort by reducing exhalation pressure.
